I fell into the SDV brainrot the past few weeks by my friend and...

I romanced Shane, a surprise to no one ever. What can I say? I like my men depressed and pathetic. I was swooned after Shane yelled at me to leave him alone ♥️

Actually, when I started interacting with him, my first gift to him was on his birthday. The funniest part was I didn't know that specific day was his bday. So when Shane mentioned it I was like 😨

I'm not complaining tho because that boosted my friendship with him.

I like Shane's winter outfit, but I kind of wish it wasn't Joja related. That's the same issue I have with his default outfit. The hole in his regular jacket really bothers me too. It makes sense for his character, though given his mental health issues.

His fit in Emily's 8 heart event knocks the rest of his clothes out of the park. I wish he wore it more 😢

I’ve played sdv for about 505 hours at least and like I’ve married Harvey I think 4ish times here are my hcs!

I feel like him and Shane would have been friends when they were like 6-14 until Shane’s parents stop letting him visit the valley. When Shane goes on his ark I feel like Harvey would help him with his gender transition (I also hc Shane as trans masc lolz) which not getting gender affirming care would rlly affect his mental health. When Harvey was younger I could totally see him being super into Pokémon spending most of his time on it. Rlly weird hc I may be just self projecting but I feel like he would have been a Warriors kid trying to get Elliott into the books when they were younger. I do ship Shane and Harvey. Harvey would just suck at any type of video game. He would bleach the tips of his hair to look younger (it doesn’t work to well)

I hc his voice as three different voices: early transition I feel like he would sound like raggedy Andy from that one 1970s movie and then after his transition I feel like his voice would either settle as a John Mulaney type voice or he would just sound like the main singer for they might be giants. (Which I think fits him more)

He listens to Jack Stauber after Sam introduces it to him, his favorite songs from him would be buttercup, Doctor, and dinner is not over so basically only the rlly happy upbeat songs

Songs I immediately associate with him are Love grows, Doctor worm, Dinner bell, and Good old-fashioned lover boy

He would kinda hate PDA anything more than a hug, holding hands, or a cheek kiss he doesn’t like as he fears it may make him look unprofessional.

He is a victim of deez nuts jokes

He’s my lil goober with social anxiety and autism

His autumn outfit would consist of a baggy sweater with a beanie and gloves

Winter outfit would have a puffy jacket with a scarf covering his mouth/nose he would force Shane into wearing a coat

He would be the best father if he had kids

Shane convinced Harvey to smoke weed with him once and he immediately greened out lmao

He loves to cuddle with whoever he’s dating especially in the cooler months

A bit of self projection with this one but he HATES the feeling of foam like that crafting foam

He’s vegetarian

He would be a musical fan and a theatre kid

Depending on like the timeline I’m playing/the oc I’m using I hc see him a bit differently like if I’m using my oc named Soil he’s 35 he’s on HRT and he hasn’t gotten top surgery, if I use Abraham I hc him as 40ish he’s fully transitioned, and if I’m using Book he’s 35 and fully transitioned

doing this ask game in one fell swoop because i need a reason to talk about elliott 💕

1. how did you discover your f/o’s content?

honestly I don't remember! it was probably on tumblr. I originally played sdv on mobile, i just remember seeing the app and being like "oh stardew, I've been meaning to play that game, and i have the money yo buy it rn" so i got it

2. how old were you when you discovered your f/o’s content?

i started playing stardew around 2019, so, i suppose i was 14

3. describe the first time you watched/played/read your f/o’s source content.

as i mentioned i was playing on my phone (which was terrible. the controls are hard + i do not recommend). I'm kind of terrible at video games so even in stardew i was struggling, i have a distinct memory of one of my first days trying to buy and eat bread and it was such a struggle, and then i accidentally gave it to someone instead of eating it 😔

but yeah on my first playthrough i initially got married to shane because i loved his character arc & him getting better but, much like everyone else, i was quickly disillusioned. we got divorced the moment i earned enough money to do it. and then i romanced both elliott and harvey for a while, and in the end decided to marry elliott :) best choice i ever made i love him sm

4. who was your first favorite character when you initially got into your f/o’s source content? was it your f/o from the very beginning?

as i mentioned shane was the first character i pursed but i was always fascinated with elliott. i still really like harvey & sebastian & sam's heart events etc but elliott is my boy <3

7. are there any specific scenes/chapters/moments of your f/o that you find yourself going back to revisit more often than any other?

the letters he sends in his 14 heart event <3 ugh it makes my heart melt. i just love him. and it's especially helpful since at that point in canon you're physically separated & i can read and reread them when i miss him, and do my best to feel like he's just out traveling.

8. are there any scenes/chapters/moments your f/o is in that you skip when you revisit their source content?

no!! every scene w him is important to me lol

10. if you could change one thing about your f/o’s source content, would you? what would you change?

more elliott (also more dialogue with everyone. but more elliott is my first priority)

11. do your friends/family know that you’re into the content that your f/o comes from or do you keep this interest to yourself?

yeah! i talk to them about my stardew games pretty often.

12. did you know what self shipping was when you first discovered your f/o’s source content?

nope!

13. do you have a favorite line your f/o has ever said?

this was a great excuse to go back through all of his dialogue. nothing stands out as one favorite but i will say i like the pair of "you probably wouldn't like it inside my cabin. it's dark and full of spiders," which is common dialogue usually near the beginning of the game/low hearts with him, and then "if you find a spider in the house, don't squash it! just let me know and i'll take the poor thing outside," which is dialogue you get after you're married. its so cute like aww he actually likes the spiders :) that's probably why they feel comfortable in his cabin lmao

14. what’s your favorite outfit your f/o has ever worn?

his NEW WINTER OUTFIT. i fucking love winter clothes on anyone i think it makes someone 10x hotter especially if it's like a peacoat etc. look at my boy!!

15. do you own any merchandise from your f/o’s source content? what is it?

I want NO spoilers at all and shanes outfit is the only spoiler I genuinely care about i wanna see it first-hand from the game

So I'll be offline on tumblr for about a week and a half at least because I have a lot to do this week and i won't have much time to play sdv as much as I want to my notifications will be off so I'm not tempted

I had to make a new save file while my modded save files' mods update over the next few months. Soo yeah, I have re-marry Shane again and work hard to make more money to buy pizzas for my beloved man.

Once I get to winter I WILL paint him like one of my cat girls, and I will sit there for 30+ minutes on one dialogue sketching out his winter outfit in specific because he's all I care about

So yeah I'll be dead for about week on here, but expect some art on my return! Especially of Shane
